In an ideal world I would have posted this with much more heads-up, but today I was suddenly seized with the vision of making an October art challenge for the indie xenofiction book series Hunters Unlucky, and I'd been looking for a good prompt set for myself anyway.

As with all October art challenges, all mediums and interpretations of the prompts are valid, and the outline is really more of a suggestion than anything. Do as much or as little as you please, and rearrange to your heart's content.

Hello any technologically inclined mutual. My computer mutual. What do I do if a game says I need to update my graphics drivers but Windows doesn’t offer any updates. Game opens and plays on Home Screen for a bit, then crashes and says the driver needs an update. worried I may have asked computer to bite off more than it can chew but I’m not enough of a computerhead for this

god this is such a ball ache. i wish i hadn't gone prebuilt because i have NO idea what i'm doing and i do not want to take it into a shop and ask advice on what to do because i look like a woman and know i'll get fucked around. that being said the general consensus from me desperately googling is 'rebuild your pc' WHICH IS JUST. SOOO FUN. tbf i already kind of planned to because i can't upgrade to windows 11 with the pc i have

things to do (gaming-wise):

webfishing: catch the leedsichthys, diamond, and CREATURE to complete the journal. secondary goal is obtain all cosmetics.

animal crossing new horizons: look i know there’s more pressing goals but i love flower breeding so get all flowers and their color variants

wobbledogs: i do not remember? i think ivy was trying to unlock the flat achievement so… create a very flattened dog

My friends, today was a day I honestly didn't think would ever arrive. Today, Georgette and I joined hands in friendship (o hai, Eobard, thanks for witnessing this touching moment 😜)

and we frickin' played some Halo!

For almost 4 hours! It was glorious, friends! We were ALL blinded by its majesty, even Eobard!

She actually had a bit of a rough patch today with the Nvidia card demon coming out to freeze up like an absolute jerk say hi for a moment...

...but I'd just seen there was an Intel update available and was literally researching whether or not to take it when, you know, everything hung up so that made up my mind pretty easily, lol. 🤷‍♀️

After that update, we updated Windows and then I thought, you know what? Let's just go for Steam and see what happens. And Steam installed and so I went for the MCC, which automatically installs Reach, so I plugged in my controller, the Mighty Purple Hand of Spartan Justice™️

(seen here with my cozy Master Chief in his Olaf robe, some hot tea and a box of tissues because I had cold at the time and this was my comfort set up, lol) and we got to saving Reach!

It totally worked, too. Reach was saved, yippee!

Jorge, telling me how waaaaay awesome it was that I helped him and Noble Team TOTES 117% SAVE REACH WITH NO CASUALTIES YES!!!

And look, we're all running to get ice cream! Yay, ice cream! 🍨

To be fair, when I think of “intense game with a lot going on”, I always think of Skyrim. I’m not a gamer, I’m very bad at games - I get my ass handed to me in early areas of Zelda games, just ask my wife. I also don’t see i9s very often, if ever. My knowledge is not from building but from working in IT. If you’re gaming with your gear, then I’ll trust your expertise!
